Visit Your Doctor From Home With Video Visits


A Video Visit is a face-to-face visit with your doctor but from the comfort and safety of your home or mobile location. To participate in Video Visits, you need to have a MyChart account. No MyChart? See the steps to sign up below. Then, you can get started with Video Visits. Simply call your physicians office to schedule your Video Visit as you do an office appointment today. On the day of the Video Visit, you will login to MyChart and talk to your doctor regarding your medical questions. Video Visits are available for non-urgent visit types.

How To Schedule a Video Visit

  • • Contact your physician's office to schedule the visit.
  • • Once scheduled your appointment will appear in your MyChart appointments.

What To Expect

Once your appointment has been scheduled, you will receive an appointment notification from MyChart. You can control how you get your notifications from the Profile tab in MyChart. You will get instructions about your appointment in MyChart. To access these instructions logon to MyChart, click on Visits and select Appointments and Visits to open appointment details. Before your visit consider the following points:

  • • Make Communication Easy - It will be easier to communicate with your physician in a quiet and well lit location.
  • • Keep It Secret Keep It Safe - Help keep your information secure by joining the appointment from a private location.
  • • Review All Instructions - Your physicians office may have special instructions. Be sure to review appointment details and complete any questionnaires.
  • • Keep Your Connection Strong - Be sure you have a strong internet connection. If you are going to use WiFi or your cell phone make sure you have a strong signal where you are planning to have your appointment.
  • • Mobile Apps - To do your video visit on your smart phone or tablet you will need the MyChart and VidyoConnect mobile apps. You can get the apps by following the links below on your smart phone or tablet. After you have installed MyChart and VidyoConnect just close out. When it is time for your visit simply go to your MyChart app and start your visit.

  • • Check In Early - eCheck-In will be available three days in advance. Be sure to complete it early so you do not have to rush before your appointment. Be prepared to update your personal information including your address, medications, allergies, and current health issues.
  • • Be On Time - Join your video visit at least five minutes ahead of your appointment time.


At the time of your visit:

You can use you MyChart account from the MyChart mobile app (smartphone or tablet) or you can use MyChart from a desktop or laptop computer. If you use a desktop or laptop computer, you will be asked to download a browser extension. You can join your visit up to 20 minutes before your appointment time. It is recommended you join at least five minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

For the best experience using a mobile device, smartphone or tablet:

Step 1: Open the MyChart app and log in to your Genesis account.

Step 2: Go to your appointment list and complete any eCheck-In steps that are still needed.

Step 3: Launch the video visit with your provider by clicking the BEGIN VIDEO button and wait for your provider to join.


For the best experience using a desktop or laptop computer:

Step 1: Go to https://mychart.genesishcs.org and log in to MyChart.

Step 2: Click on Visits, go to your appointment list, and Complete any eCheck-In steps that are still needed.

Step 3: Launch the video visit with your provider by clicking the BEGIN VIDEO button and wait for your provider to join.

FAQ

Why should I use MyChart?

After your visit, the easiest way to access your After-Visit Summary, plan of care, prescription information and ability to message your provider follow-up questions is through MyChart.

Will I be billed for video visits?

Video visits will be billed to your insurance company. Most insurance payers are covering video visits due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Depending on your insurance coverage, you could be responsible for a portion or all of the billed amount. If you are unsure of the amount you will owe for this appointment, please call the Genesis Patient Accounting department at 740-454-4335.
